ABSTRACT

Objective:To systematically evaluate the effects of low protein diet combined with α-keto acid on calcium and phosphorus metabolism and nutritional status in patients undergoing hemodialysis.Method:Randomized controlled Trials were searched in Cochrane Library, Web of Science, PubMed, Embase, CBM, CNKI, Wanfang and VIP databases from the establishment of respective database until July 2021, and meta-analysis is conducted using RevMan 5.4.Results:A total of 8 studies including 556 patients were selected. Meta-analysis showed that after receiving low protein diet combined with α-keto acid, patients demonstrated significantly reduced blood phosphorus [MD = -0.17, 95% CI (-0.25, -0.7), P < 0.01], calcium- phosphorus product [MD = -6.17, 95% CI (-6.67, -5.58), P < 0.01] and parathyroid hormone levels [MD = -35.36, 95% CI (-40.89, -29.83), P < 0.01]. There was no significant difference in serum calcium [MD = 0.03, 95% CI (-0.00, 0.07), P = 0.08] and serum albumin [MD = 0.41, 95% CI (-0.12, 0.95), P = 0.13]. Conclusion:Low protein diet combined with α-keto acid can reduce the levels of serum phosphorus, calcium-phosphorus product and parathyroid hormone in hemodialysis patients while the effects on serum calcium and serum albumin are undetermined and need further verification.

ABSTRACT

@#Respiratory mucosal immune system is the body''s first line of defense against infection.Since the outbreak of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in 2019,nasal mucosal immune vaccine, with its ability to induce cellular, humoral and mucosal triple immune responses, has become a research hotspot. This article focuses on novel coronavirus, with an understanding of its structure and pathogenesis, a brief introduction to the immune mechanism of nasal mucosa, a summary of the different types of nasal mucosal immune vaccines and their clinical research, aiming to provide some theoretical reference for the development of new vaccines, and exploration of the best methods and strategies to combat COVID-19.

ABSTRACT

Natural collagen peptides are collagen hydrolysates. Because of their unique physicochemical properties and excellent biological activities, collagen peptides have been a research hotspot of cosmetic raw materials development and skincare efficacy improvement. Combined with the needs of the skincare efficacy and the development trends of cosmetics, the extraction methods and their structural characteristics of natural collagen peptides were summarized in detail. The applications and its research progress in skincare efficacy of collagen peptides, such as moisturizing and anti-wrinkle, trophism and anti-aging, filling and skin regeneration were expressed with emphasis. Finally, the development and practical applications in cosmetics of natural collagen peptides were adequately prospected.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the objectivity and scientificity of fecal sampling , and to provide reference for investigating the relationship between intestinal microbes and diseases . Methods Terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism, degeneration gradient gel electrophoresis and real time fluorescent quantitative PCR techniques were applied to differentially analyze the bacterial community composition and abundance of intestinal contents and feces taken from dif -ferent sites of BALB/c mouse intestine .Results The predominant T-RFLP fragments ( T-RFs) in feces in the rectum and colon were 244 bp, 255 bp and 449 bp, however , those in feces of the small intestine including duodenum , jejunum and il-eum were 60 bp, 73 bp, 261 bp, 268 bp and 272 bp, and with a larger variation of the bacterial community composition in various parts of the small intestine .The bacterial abundance in the contents of duodenum and jejunum were 6.9 log ( cop-ies)/g and 8.3 log (copies)/g, fewer than in the other parts of the intestine , while the bacterial abundance in the feces was as high as 11.8 log (copies)/g, being about 2 times higher than that in the duodenum and jejunum (P0.05).Conclusions The inter-mouse variations of bacterial communi-ty composition in the large intestine contents are small .The bacterial composition and abundance are similar suggest that studies on the relationship between large intestine especially colorectal microbiota and diseases may be conducted via fecal sampling.
